Trade O Mania is a reflection of STIG’s innovative spirit and commitment to experiential learning. Conceptualized in 2024, the event was born out of a vision to create a hands-on platform to test stock market skills and offer participants a realistic yet engaging glimpse into the world of trading. The core team conducted in-depth research on similar initiatives across leading institutions, gathering insights to develop a format that would be both educational and exciting.
This vision was carefully adapted to suit the dynamic learning environment at SICSR. By January 2025, the team began execution, building a fully functional in-house trading simulation powered by custom synthetic data. The entire system was ingeniously crafted using Google Sheets and Forms, offering a seamless, user-friendly interface that simulated live trading scenarios.
Participants got the opportunity to strategize, take risks, and learn in real-time, making the experience both fun and informative. STIG sincerely thanks the Director of SICSR for providing continuous encouragement, resources, and support in bringing this concept to life. A heartfelt appreciation goes to Dr. Parag Kaveri for his invaluable guidance throughout the planning, development, and successful execution of the event, without which Trade O Mania would not have reached its full potential.
