Shruti Nair and Avni Sharma, students of the BCA Batch 2023–2027 a student of the Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research (SICSR), have achieved a significant academic milestone with the publication of their research paper, "Ensuring Scholarship Integrity: Detecting and Classifying Fraud in Digital Applications Using Machine Learning," in Elsevier's Procedia Computer Science.
The paper was selected for presentation and publication at the 16th International Symposium on Frontiers in Ambient and Mobile Systems (FAMS 2026), held from 14–16 April 2026. Addressing the critical issue of fraud detection in digital scholarship applications, the research demonstrates the application of machine learning techniques to enhance transparency and integrity in scholarship processes.
What began as a classroom project evolved into a noteworthy research contribution through dedication, collaboration, and continuous mentorship. The authors expressed their gratitude to Mr. Amol Vibhute for his invaluable guidance throughout the research journey and to Dr. Jatinderkumar R. Saini for fostering a culture of student research and innovation at SICSR.
This achievement highlights the potential of academic projects to develop into impactful scholarly work and reflects SICSR’s commitment to promoting research excellence and innovation among its students.
