Event Description:
SICSR IEEE Pune Student Branch, in association with SICSR IEEE SIGHT Affinity Group and SICSR IEEE Pune Section Affordable Agriculture Labs organized IEEE SIGHT Week Celebration 2022 from 2nd May to 9th May 2022 in an offline mode at Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research(SICSR), Pune.
The student branch hosted two events under the same. The first event was Project Presentation Competition on 2nd May 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM IST. The second event was the E-Waste Collection Drive that was held between 2nd May-9th May 2022.
The Project Presentation Competition was held in two rounds. In round 1, the teams were asked to present their topics and projects to the judge of the round, Dr. Rajashree Jain, Branch Counselor, SICSR IEEE Pune Student Branch, as the preliminary round. Total of 17 teams participated in the preliminary round out of which 6 teams were selected for the final round. The final round of the competition was held on 2nd May '2022 which was judged by the distinguished judges, Mr. Girish Khilari (Chair, IEEE Pune Section) and Dr. Parag Kaveri(Assistant Professor, SICSR, Pune). The theme of the competition was based on IoT and Affordable Agriculture.
The event started with a warm welcome address presented by Dr. Rajashree Jain. It was then followed by a guest address by the respected judges who enlightened the participants with their experience and wise words. The selected six teams, then, presented their ideas and projects on the given theme. All the projects were highly praised by the judges. The winner of the competition was adjudged as Team-1 with their project on “SEMI-URBAN IRRIGATION SYSTEM”. The team comprised students from BCA(Batch:2020-23) from SICSR, Pune - Mr. Vaishnav Vivek Prabhu, Mr. Shrivats Sharma, Mr. Vishal Ramesh Dakhneja and Mr. Vidur R.
The event concluded with a prize presentation ceremony for winners and felicitation of the guest judges.
As the second event, the student branch held a week-long E-Waste Drive where some boxes were kept in the SICSR, Pune campus vicinity. The students and staff dropped the e-waste that was with them in the boxes which was later sent for recycling.
